Fourth of July
Growing up the fourth of July was the climax of summer time. My favorite movie as a kid was Sandlot and the fourth of July scene is iconic. I always dreamed of playing baseball on a summer night under the bright flashes and loud bangs of fireworks. I dreamed about this scene and although it never came true I was fortunate enough to get to spend the days of the fourth playing baseball and nights walking to the top of tallest hill in my neighborhood to watch the downtown fireworks with my friends. As you get older you start to understand the meaning of the day and how lucky we are to live in this country with freedoms that come with it. The day moves from a day with fireworks to a celebration of the great American experience. The day is filled with friends, flags, and more Toby Keith songs than any other day of the year. In a time period where patriotism is looked down upon by some groups this is the day you can be unapologetically patriotic. The hope and pride is something we should strive for everyone to have everyday because America really something we should all be proud to be apart of. With that being said drink a Budweiser for me, blow some stuff up and enjoy another great day of living in the greatest country to ever exist on the face of the earth. Stay safe and God bless America!
